Great to see you on the Garden Stage at the Monterey County Fair last night. You performed a wonderful set of tunes and made lots of new fans! It's the perfect stage to play "Summer of Love" of course. Loved the acoustic songs, too! Looking forward to many more beautiful songs and performances ahead.

Mike,
after I heard and understood the lyrics of "Don't hurt my heart" I felt good to see that your motivation is alive and I saw I was mistaken. Thanks God for that.

Directions to the B Bar for Saturday night...Hiway 89 South from Livingston approximately 36 miles to Tom Miner Basin turnoff - gravel road - follow signs for Tom Miner Campground - entrance to B Bar approximately 7. 1 miles from highway - on the right - sign says "B Bar Ranch-Next Entrance" - take it - this is the lower entrance that goes to the barn - barn is about a 1/4 mile from the gravel road - there will be a tent set up.

If the weather is cooperative (the forecast is good), we'd like to have the music and dancing set up outside, on either side of the tent, whichever looks best to you. There will be a horse drawn wagon (pretty big) parked on the low side of the tent. If you can set up on that - great - if not, that's OK - whatever works.

Feel free to call me at 220-1684. I've told them at the barn that you want to begin setting up at about 2:00 pm.

Thanks,
Hannibal

@Jeff Wood,

I will answer your question for Mike. The guys name is Michael Stevens. He reopened the Fender Custom Shop maybe 20 years ago now. He and his wife and dog live south of Alpine, TX. He has his guitar shop on that land. His website is http://www.stephensguitars.com

FeeL

April 9, 2010

I gotta give my .02 cents.........

"FEEL" reminds me of Gords' Gold back when Lightfoot layed it down in '75. Some rehashing rerecordings of some of Mike's songs from different times on his journey...."FEEL" is a here and now interpretation of those previously captured moments. And hearing these here and now interpretations makes you stop in your tracks and listen to the raw nakedness Mike layed down in the recordings. A perfect album!

I heard the Fernwood show was a wet dream! Wish I was there.
I personally can't wait to see what and where the Saints direction is going....It's a beautiful thing....

See you at the May Show at the Fairgrounds!

A "Feel" Fan

Mike,
it's not of my business and probably a kind of depressing aproach, but your new artistic expression makes me sad. The music is fantastic and the band is very good also, but I feel a kind of rupture with something I admired in you : a desire to maintain alive, in this modern world, roots and things that are fundamental and significative. I hope to be mistaken.

I just saw Mike Beck and The Bohemian Saints for the first time Saturday night at the Riptide in San Francisco. I thought they had a great sound.I love the country/rock sound, and the blues. I love Mike's voice, very much like Tom Petty, and kind of Bob Dylanish at times, only better.
I got to meet them at their break, and they all seem like really nice down to earth guys.
I would see them again if they were in the Marin area. Please play here again soon. Thank you for being you!

Hi Mike! I met you at the Denver airport on February 25th as you were boarding for Midland, Texas. You were telling me about your friend that used to build the Fender Custom Shop guitars. My brother is interested in contacting him. Would you please send me his contact information so I may pass it on to him? It was a pleasure meeting and speaking with you. I wish you the very best!

Hey Mike,

I wanted to thank you again for a great time at the workshop in Elko. I caught a little of the band at the stray dog, the place was packed, but the music was great! Hope to be able to get to one of your gigs again soon. Take care

Thank you guys for putting on another great show last Friday at the Turf Club. Second time I've seen you play and I'm hooked. Good clean sounding country rock. Good energy. We had a blast.
Turf Club has more room than the last place you played,(and better parking), even though that's a cool little spot, too, but you guys need the room cause everyone wants to dance!
Finally located my Jo Mora poster I've had for twenty years, got it framed and lo and behold, it's the Sweetheart of the Rodeo! I just always liked it cause it had horses in it!
Happy Trails, see you in March.

Amy Jane

February 8, 2010

What a blast Friday night at the Turf Club! Thankyou so much for finding a place where all the dancers had enough room to cut a rug and not block everybody else's view. Bar and food was appreciated and the chocolates and rose petals on the tables were a sweet romantic touch.
I really had a good time and sure appreciate you guys and your magically fun music. I really think the Bohemian Saints should be on the Garden Stage at the Monterey County Fair this year. Pull out all the stops and blow some minds, like Jimi did on the Main Stage a few years back. Whaddya think?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next show. Safe travels and fun times until then for you all.

Hey, Mike. Great song, especially for someone of the same vintage. Instead of going to Monterey Pops, I was bowling at our graduation party and coaching baseball. Best wishes, Keith

Doctor.

I just watched those Music Villa videos and I got to say that the sound of the recordings is freakin' good....nicely balanced out...between St. Paul and Marty Gras....Peter Pan is just oozing and dripping butter love all over. And of course the Doctor leads the way. Halo shining on.

Summer of Lovey Love is a face melter.....you truly can not write a bad song. Petty is going to be knocking on your door soon my friend. He may be opening for you one of these cycles. Let me know when the time comes when your showing Keith Richards some super tasty riffs......I gotta be there.

The Gregorian 2010 cycle is slowing starting to churn as we enter the Year of the Tiger....sheeet is gonna roar fo' sur'....the Saints are going to conjure some bright ass light and burn the freakin' retinae out of all the non-believers.......YOU SHALL BE HEALED!

Looking forward to some up coming shows especially the one around the New Moon in Mayo.

See ya down the Road

love and (((((((((((((((Good Vibes)))))))))))) especially for all those souls in Haiti

December 20, 2009

Hey Mike - The new website is exquisite and I loved the Summer of Love right off the bat. Great story line and the music has a real 1967 vibe. Great guitar solo and the leads are as awesome as always. Oh yeah, the rhythm section keeps things together in fine time...I could hear Tom Petty doing this as a cover!!

Here's to T-Birds and Boone's Farm (although I prefered "Bali Hai" as my wine of choice in those days)!!!

Mike,
This is the Corky from Elko and The Stray Dog via LA. I loaned you a book on Canadian folk>rock once. Anyway, I've signed up for your guitar clinic at the CPG along with another fan from London. Both of us are three chord-no lick guys, but are willing to try and learn on the sorry side of sixty.

Looking forward to seeing you and hearing Amanda came home,

California Classics

November 7, 2009

Hey Mike

We've relocated California Classics to the old ranch outside of Paso. Aaron is making ranch rawhide, braiding and all sorts of leather work from fancy headstalls to gun belts. Am still hand sewing the wild rags. We have a workshop here and hope to set up more when possible. We will be offering our own line of CA style silver bits and later spurs. There will be more handwork and detail attention on Tools of the Tradition. We'll see.

Glad to know that Bill is taking care of you and your music in print. He's a great guy and a big supporter. Good to see the new site. It's well done and has a warm feel to it.

Any more western music forthcoming? The hackamore and two rein stories are waiting to be told and you can do it.

Hope to catch you on the trail. Our best to you and the Saints.
